Welcome Ladies to 2015! If the first Board meeting of the year is any indication, the Auxiliary is off to a great start. We have plans for interesting General Meetings, FUN FUNdraisers, and lots of opportunities to get together and have fun while raising funds for TNC.
Our first event of the year is the General Meeting on Monday, February 23rd at Toberman Neighborhood Center. The meeting will begin at 10:30 with a White Elephant Sale, and a walking tour of the Toberman campus for anyone who is interested. Marie Callender’s will provide box lunches (with pie!). Carter Calhoun, Acting Director of TNC will be Guest Speaker, and several TNC program heads. Bring something for the White Elephant sale (or contact Nancy about dropping off items – see her column on page 3.)
Nancy has several Game Day FUNdraising events in development, and we are working on General meeting venues that you won’t want to miss.
Because attendance has dropped considerably over the past few years we will not host the Parade of Trees this year. As your 2015 membership dues entitle you to a ticket to a FUNdraising event, I know you are looking forward to learning more. I’ll keep you informed about how we plan to carry on this year.
And speaking of dues, if you haven’t mailed your check, please do so right away. We are waiting for the completion of dues collection to publish the 2015 Roster.
If you missed the Holiday luncheon you missed a very nice afternoon. We were having such a good time talking with each other, and shopping Peggy Ekberg’s collectible table, we almost forgot we were at the Dalmation Club for a purpose. New officers were installed by Patricia Ferrara with due pomp and hilarity.
Connie Sherman was awarded Volunteer of the Year 2014. An Active Member of the Auxiliary since 2004, Connie works in the Thrift Shop, served on the Board. When there is a job to be done, Connie quietly takes action to fill the need. As President of the Auxiliary in 2013 and 2014, she successfully guided us in our service and fundraising activities. In 2015 Connie will serve as Treasurer, and Representative to the Board TNC.
I’m looking forward to seeing you this year.
