Another blustery wet month! Hope all of you were able to keep yourself warm and comfy. Not much to report this month.

Our Board has met and discussed all of the options we have for FUNDraisers and find that it is more difficult then ever to secure programs. Hope all of you will be excited as we are at some of the programs we will have and will make a BIG effort to attend!

Be sure to invite your friends and family so that they can see what a wonderful organization we are and possibly not only attend the programs but join us in our endeavor to help Toberman Neighborhood Center achieve the goals they have set for the families in the community.

God Bless,
Evelyn Morgan, President

colorful shopping bagsTHRIFT SHOP NEWS

We are very pleased to report that our shop is doing GREAT.

The receipts for the month of February were $3,168.47!! (where do those pennies come from?) That is MORE than last month. Hope it continues to grow!!

The ladies are doing a fantastic job, just as they always do. They have worked very hard to clear the sorting room and storage room. We have been given an abundance of donations and it was almost up to the ceiling. Many kudos to Sue Ware and her fantastic team for the extra hours they have put in. We have been blessed with some of the finest, kindest and most giving volunteers we could have ever expected.

Thank you for all of your efforts.

God Bless,
Evelyn Morgan/Sue Ware

February 10, 2016

We always enjoy great company, great food, and fun bridge on our second Wednesday with Toberman firends. WHat we don’t enjoy is playing with a dummy (please don’t take that literally!) I am happy to report that Peggy Ekberg found a few more ladies to join us in future games! Thank you, Peggy!!! Now, perhaps you will not have to call, “Is there a dummy available?)

Our hostesses were Peggie Bartkowski, who did the calling, and Mary Enos, who brought wonderful Vaelntine goodies. Prizes went to:

  1. Peggy Ekberg
  2. Aiko Imagawa
  3. Shirley Marshall

A “get well” card was signed by all and sent to Fran Berendzen who is recovering from surgery. We understand that Marcia Strong is also recovering from illness and that Joyce Prizler has some sadness in her family. We hope to see you all back soon.

Next month’s hostesses are Norine Madison and Mary Callaway. As usual, please return their calls as soon as possible and let them know you are coming.

March 9, 2016

We had a very select group of 12 ladies today. I would have to say that those who missed it also missed Norine Madison’s fabulous homemade cookies and sweets. What a baker we are fortunate ot have in our group! They were so good Barbara Slaydon purchased what we couldn’t stuff into our bodies and donated the money to Toberman.

We serenaded the Think Cafe with our beautiful rendition of “Happy Birthday” for our hostess, Mary Callaway. (I’m sure singing helps the digestion!)

We do have some new members thanks to the efforts of Peggy Ekberg, and hope to add to our group in the coming months. Prizes were awarded to:

  1. Ellie Land (she always wins
  2. Flo Fenton
  3. Shirley Marshall

Next month’s hostesses are Shirley Marshall and Flo Fenton. We hope to see more of our “old” members, as well as our new ones, there to share in the fun and games.
