Rosemary’s Ramblings:

“Rambling” really fits as I recover from a 30 family member/three day long 90th birthday celebration for George. We had a blast! And we’re not the only one. Take a look at the report on Nancy Collinge’s Game Day!!! A huge thank you, Nancy!

We did have to cancel the June Yard Sale due to unexpected health issues incurred by Barbara Heughins, the location home owner. Thank you, Barbara, for your willingness all the same, and our supportive prayers are with you.

On schedule is a General Meeting/Tour with Dessert at Toberman on Monday afternoon, June 26th. We’ll be updated on their current program and services and enjoy an informal fashion show spotlighting Thrift Store garments. More details to follow.

We’ve also a program featuring Bryon Wells and his “humorous” crime safety talk scheduled for July and a tour of the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum tour tentatively set for September. And as an aside, is it too early to tell you that a not-yet-formed Nominations Committee will be considering a slate of offices for next year and to ask you to keep a positive/maybe smile on your face?

Thank you, everyone, for your continuing faithful support of Toberman in whatever form it has taken.
Rosemary

Thrift Shop Report
The Thrift Shop continues to chug along. April sales ($2785.07) were a little lower than March but have definitely picked up in May. There’s a Thrift Shop Team Management meeting scheduled for the first week in June so if you’ve questions, concerns or thoughts, please pass them on to Rosemary Zettler who will be planning to attend. Call her also, if you’d like to be a part of the Management Team.  A big thanks to all who generously give their time and energy in support of this important community service.

Nancy’s Game Week
GAME WEEK was a fun and successful activity and we raised $5110 for Toberman.  This included 88 participants (84 bridge players and four pinochle players).  We not only made some money, we may have a few new recruits to add to the Auxiliary roster.  MANY THANKS TO ALL PARTICIPANTS: players; helpers and loaners of tables, chairs, table covers; the wonderful bakers who supplied numerous desserts for all three days; obtainers of raffle prizes; raffle tickets sellers and my extra couple of helpers for clean-up!! YOU ARE ALL AMAZING AND WE DID A GOOD THING!!!
Love you all….Nancy

Members Remembered
Two former long-time active members of the Auxiliary, Betty Blenkhorn and Priss Voss recently passed away and as is our tradition, a donation of $25 was given to Toberman in memory of each of them.
