NANCY’S NOT NONSENSE (well not everything)
My dear fellow Auxiliary Members: The new Board had a great Board/Planning meeting and we are looking to have a very busy and exciting year.
Tuesday, February 6 will be our next Board meeting at Nancy’s Office (796 W. 9th Street, San Pedro). We like to start about 9:30 am. Please keep in mind that our Board meetings are OPEN to all members, so drop by if you have some input or just want to be with the “in” crowd!
Tuesday, February 20 we hope to have a General Meeting with a speaker/program. We will hold it at TNC in the Multi-Purpose Room. More info to follow.
March will be “dark” except for the TNC MAJOR GALA AT THE LONG BEACH AQUARIUM. This looks to be a glorious affair and if I wasn’t in China that date, I’d be there!! Please support this event, TNC needs you.
Speaking of NEEDING you…the Thrift Shop is thriving and our Auxiliary Thrift Shop Coordinator, Gina McKenna, is doing an awesome job in helping TNC staff to organize and clean up the shop, but we do need more volunteers! I am using my knee-replacement surgery as an “excuse” to duck volunteering until February, but then I will be there!! Please help out!
Friday, April 13 is your/our lucky day! We will hold an English Tea-themed program to honor PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE Auxiliary members. That will also be held at TNC in the Multi-Purpose Room from 11 am to 2pm.
GAME WEEK will be back at my house again in May: 7, 9, 11.
The first weekend in June a MAJOR garage sale is planned at the home of one of our members who lives in an area that has been doing an entire neighborhood garage sale for many years, thus MAJOR turnout. WE will be looking for donations throughout the first months of the year and then volunteers to price it, sell it and brag about it!!
July will be quiet, Board Meeting only.
August is, as usual “dark”.
September a General Meeting at the Mueller House.
October, lots of work to do for the NOVEMBER 9, PARADE OF TREES. We did well last year with just a couple of months to plan, this time we have a full year.
Then in December we will install a new Board and be grateful to survive!!
YOU ARE THE BEST WOMEN IN THE WORLD TO WORK WITH…I KNOW WE CAN COUNT ON YOUR SUPPORT!! Stay well and know you are loved…
Nancy Collinge, President
